Week Thirteen in Review

Week Thirteen of the NFL season may mark the end of an era.  After battling wrist and knee injuries, the Giants placed veteran long snapper Zak DeOssie on injured reserve, which may mark the end of his career, at least with the Giants.

DeOssie, who spent 13 years and 199 games with the Giants, was well known for his excellent coverage skills.  DeOssie was replaced by Colin Holba from the practice squad.  This is the only the second long snapping change since the start of the regular season, with the Niners previously using Holba, Jon Condo and Garrison Sanborn during Kyle Nelson’s suspension.

Three snappers had tackles in punt coverage this week, with Charley Hughlett (Browns) tallying a solo tackle and James Winchester (Chiefs) and Joe Cardona (Patriots) adding assisted tackles.

The NFL Long Snappers Chart after Week Thirteen is below.
