Week Three in Review

Week Three of the NFL season is complete and, like Week Two, was generally uneventful for snappers. There was a unique “butt punt” in the Dolphins game against the Bills that has been covered in detail elsewhere.

The Giants had a few snappers in on a tryout basis earlier in the week. The workout featured Kam Canaday, Mitch Fraboni and Steven Wirtel, although no one was signed. The Rams released veteran Matt Overton from the practice squad now that Matt Orzech appears fully recovered.

Five snappers did record tackles in punt coverage this week, led by Aaron Brewer (Cardinals) who had two solo tackles. Nick Moore (Ravens) and Josh Harris (Chargers) each had a solo tackle, while Luke Rhodes (Colts) and Zach Wood (Saints) had assists.

The NFL Long Snappers Chart after Week Three is below.
