With NFL teams on break until training camps open in late July, there were a few additional snapping transactions.
The Packers signed a mini-camp tryout rookie snapper, Jack Coco, to the active roster. Coco was used as Georgia Tech’s short snapper during most of his career, but did not snap this past season. He will compete with Steven Wirtel.
With the signing of Coco, five NFL teams have two snappers on the roster. The others are the Panthers, Bears, Bengals and Patriots.
At least one team brought back a rookie mini-camp tryout snapper for mandatory mini-camp, as the Ravens invited snapper Alex Matheson from Cal Lutheran for another look. In addition, the Broncos had rookie snapper Daniel Cantrell from Boise State in for a tryout. Cantrell also was a tryout snapper for the Seahawks and Raiders right after the NFL Draft. Neither snapper was signed to a contract.
