Rookie Mini-Camp Long Snappers

This weekend, 24 NFL teams conducted rookie mini-camps and most had a long snapper invited on a tryout basis. A total of 18 teams had at least one snapper on a tryout during mini-camp, either this past weekend or the prior weekend, and a few snappers participated in more than one mini-camp.

To date, Ross Reiter (Colorado State) is the only snapper from this weekend’s tryouts to sign a contract, as he signed with the Patriots. Last week, Antonio Ortiz (TCU) signed with the Bears. They join Cal Adomitis (Pitt), who signed with the Bengals right after the Draft.

With the signings of Ortiz and Reiter from mini-camps, plus the signing of Adomitis after the Draft, four NFL teams currently have two snappers on the roster. Those teams are Carolina, Chicago, Cincinnati and New England. Rex Sunahara, who was signed by the Steelers in January, was waived last week.

Below is a chart of all the snappers in mini-camp, including Adomitis, who is the only one listed that was not originally on a tryout.
