Week Seven in Review

Week Seven in the NFL is complete and perhaps the biggest story involving a long snapper is the 200 tickets that Joe Cardona of the Patriots donated to military members for the Falcons game on Sunday night,  The CFL also had a noteworthy event this week, as BC Lions snapper Mike Benson recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Two teams worked out snappers prior to Week Seven action.  Detroit worked out Andrew East, Nolan Frese and Jeff Overbaugh, while the Giants had East, Derek Hart and Colin Holba in as well.  The Giants workout was precautionary, as Zak DeOssie had a minor injury, but he was healthy for Sunday’s game and no move was needed.

Three snappers recorded tackles in punt coverage, with Morgan Cox of the Ravens recording a solo tackle and Reid Ferguson of the Bills adding an assisted tackle.  DeOssie also tallied two assisted tackles for the Giants, proving that any injury is not impacting his excellent coverage skills.

The NFL Long Snappers Chart after Week Seven is below.
