Week Two of the NFL season is complete and was generally an uneventful one for snappers. Before the games started Sunday, however, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com wrote a in-depth story about Clark Harris of the Bengals, one of 14 snappers that may earn more than $1 million this season.
Teams have conducted some recent workouts with snappers in case of emergency. Among the workouts are Andrew East (Bears), Taybor Pepper (Patriots), Colin Holba (Jacksonville) and, most recently, client Derek Hart (Bills).
Seven snappers recorded tackles in punt coverage in Week Two, led by James Winchester of the Chiefs, who had a solo tackle and forced fumble on the same play. Beau Brinkley (Titans), Joe Cardona (Patriots), Casey Kreiter (Broncos) and Nick Sundberg (Redskins) also had solo tackles, while Jon Weeks (Texans) and Clark Harris (Bengals) each had assisted tackles.
