Week One of the NFL season is complete and, unfortunately, rookie long snapper Kameron Canaday of the Cardinals received the attention no snapper wants. Canaday, who made his debut on Sunday Night Football, had a poor snap on a last-second field goal attempt that was missed. Overall, there were 11 missed field goals and 4 missed extra points in Week One.
Prior to this week’s games, the Saints worked out snappers Aaron Brewer, Thomas Gafford and Andrew East. More free agent snapper workouts may follow in the next few weeks as teams prepare for any snapping needs that may arise during the season due to injury or performance.
Three snappers, Morgan Cox (Ravens), Charley Hughlett (Browns) and Zak DeOssie (Giants), recorded solo tackles in punt coverage this week.
