Week Six in Review

Week Six was a notable one for positive snapping news. JJ Jansen of the Panthers set the NFL’s all-time record for games played by a long snapper on Sunday. It was Jansen’s 282nd game, all with the Panthers, breaking Trey Junkin’s record for most games played by a snapper. Jansen is also second among active NFL players in games played behind Calais Campbell of the Ravens at 283 games. Congrats to JJ on a great career that just keeps going.

After last week’s snapping issues with Jacksonville, the Jaguars added Jacob Bobenmoyer to the practice squad and activated him for their second consecutive overseas game. Bobenmoyer was on a camping trip in Colorado when he got the call and made the journey overseas and snapped well.

The Saints released Cal Adomitis and brought back Zach Wood from injury and Wood snapped Sunday without incident.

Four snappers recorded tackles in punt coverage this week, with Joe Cardona (Rams) recording a solo tackle and Casey Kreiter (Cardinals), Josh Harris (Chargers) and James Winchester (Chiefs) each adding assisted tackles.
