Snapping Moves

About the Blog

Some quick snapping notes with the NFL Draft approaching. The Packers traded JJ Jansen to the Panthers for a conditional 7th Round pick in 2011. Snapper trades are very rare, but the Panthers needed a replacement for veteran Jason Kyle, who may be too expensive to re-sign. Jansen won the Packers snapping job last season but got hurt just prior to the start of the regular season and client Brett Goode performed well all season in his place.

In another move, the Chiefs have just signed street free agent Tanner Purdum, a local product who was a quarterback and snapper for Baker University in Kansas. Purdum last played in 2007 and served as a graduate assistant for Baker in 2008. He will compete with Thomas Gafford for the Chiefs snapping job.
