While the majority of Longsnap.com is focused on the NFL and college long snappers, we also pay attention to other professional snappers, including those snapping up north in the Canadian Football League.
This year, with the invaluable assistance of Noah Beausoleil, who runs the Twitter/X account Between the Goalpost https://x.com/NoahBeauso and also has his own YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@Between-The-Goalposts, we can provide a more comprehensive review of the 2024 regular season which just concluded.
Noah used various sources to analyze as many long and short snaps as possible and track how teams used and adjusted snappers during the season.
The BC Lions used two snappers this season. Riley Pickett handled all short snaps while former NFL veteran Kyle Nelson performed all punt snaps. The Montreal Alouettes long snapper Louis-Philip Bourassa went down with an injury in Week 5 and was replaced by Alexandre Gange. Toronto Argonauts snapper Adam Guillemette went down with an injury in Week 19, leading to the team adding Simon Chaves. After Guillemette returned from injury, the Argonauts signed Chaves to the practice squad.
Noah’s analysis had Guillemette as the most accurate snapper, followed by Gordon Whyte of Hamilton and Aaron Crawford in Calgary.
