Week Nine saw another snapper lost to injury. Andrew DePaola of the Vikings suffered a hand injury in the Sunday Night game and will miss at least four games after being placed on injured reserve. It is unclear as of this morning who the Vikings will sign to replace DePaola.
In other snapper transactions, the Buccaneers have designated Evan Deckers to return from injured reserve, although Zach Triner snapped last night. The Bears released veteran Jake McQuaide from its practice squad so he is the top veteran snapper available for a team with a need.
Saints special teams coach Darren Rizzi will serve as head coach in New Orleans after Dennis Allen was fired.
Four snappers recorded tackles in punt coverage this week, led by Jacob Bobenmoyer who had a tackle and an assist. Zach Wood (Saints) had a solo tackle and Hogan Hatten (Lions) and DePaola (Vikings) each added assisted tackles.
